Find out moreFollowing a significant decline in 2020, GHG emissions figures for Germany have recently risen again. In 2021, around 762 million tonnes of CO2 equivalents were released – around 33 million tonnes or 4.5 per cent more than in 2020. Overall, this means that emissions in Germany have fallen by 38.7 per cent since 1990. The increase last year was particularly marked in the energy sector, which counted an increase of 27 million tonnes of CO2 equivalents. The figures are based on current calculations by the Federal Environment Agency (UBA). The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action has announced an extensive immediate action programme to support climate change mitigation. Find out more
From 17 to 18 May 2022, a congress on energy efficiency research for industry and commerce will be held at Tagungswerk Berlin to show how new innovations and trends emerge as a result of research projects on energy efficiency. The event will include lectures, discussions, workshops and networking opportunities with representatives from government, research and business.
