As reported by solarserver, the Economic Affairs Ministry is providing the DFS, Germany’s air traffic control company, with money to retrofit rotating radio beacons. Up until now, these beacons have prevented an expansion of wind energy.
solarserver also reports that a project organised by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing aims to integrate lightweighting technologies into the manufacture of foundations for offshore wind energy installations.
